An Enduring Surgical Foundation for Medical Students

Scrubbing 2

The Department of Surgery Clerkship is designed to be inspiring, stimulating, but above all, educational. We will provide UCSF medical students with a solid surgical foundation that endures over a lifetime regardless of the medical career path ultimately chosen. The clerkship offers diverse training opportunities via different facilities, lecture series, faculty-led case presentations, observed physical exams, informal Bedside Rounds, and both hands-on patient care and procedures. The Surgery 110 Rotation has students at Moffitt-Long Hospital, Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, San Francisco Veterans Administration Hospital, Alameda County Medical Center, Mount Zion Hospital, Mission Bay Hospital, California Pacific Medical Center and Kaiser San Leandro.
